So Saturday night I decided to treat myself and the family to a Spanish Tapas Night.
We’d managed to make it through January with no alcohol, no chocolate and no sweets. We’d kept within our £50 a week shopping budget and so it felt like a great time to celebrate. And in our house, the way we celebrate is through our bellies!
This is not the cheapest meal to knock up and it certainly requires some time in the kitchen. But the weather was horrendous and again the boys were hogging the TV so it was either lock myself in the kitchen or attempt the ironing pile. I opted for my favourite!
I actually really enjoy cooking tapas, despite there being lots of little dishes I don’t find it stressful, as long as you keep your eye on the time and have a ‘plan’ you will do fine. And trust me, it is soooo worth it!
Here is a list of what I made with the links to the recipes. Obviously you can just make whatever you like!
Plus I added a roll of crusty ciabatta for dipping in the prawns! If you have more people you can bulk it out with extra dishes like tomato and mozzarella salad, Spanish omelette and breads with dips…
This meal cost a total of £8.81 and served 2 adults and 2 children (so £2.20 per person)
Plus the bread which cost me 59p (part baked ciabatta from Aldi)
Disfrutar de su cena (enjoy your meal)
